Myeloproliferative Disorders

The MPD Foundation is currently not accepting new grant applications due to our focus on the Research Alliance.  Please check this website in the future for updated information

The MPD foundation seeks proposals on an ongoing basis from researchers investigating myeloproliferative disorders. Fifteen grants have been funded in the last four years.

Qualifications For Awards

Any candidate whose research specifically addresses myelofibrosis, polycythemia vera, or essential thrombocythemia, and contributes to the knowledge of the cause, treatment, or potential cure of these disorders is invited to submit a proposal.

For additional information on the MPD foundation, please contact Robert Rosen at .

Relationship With Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)

The MPD Foundation desires to maximize the opportunities for MPD researchers. The MPD Foundation intends to accomplish this by making awards in 2 ways - exclusive funding by the MPD Foundation and joint funding with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). All proposals will be evaluated independently by the Medical Advisory Board of the MPD Foundation. Joint proposals will also be evaluated by the LLS peer review process. Awards may be made by either one of the foundations, or by both.

Procedures For Submitting Proposals

Proposals submitted for joint funding must be based on the LLS Grant Proposals Guidelines documented in the LLS Website: www.leukemia-lymphoma.org. Separate copies of the proposal should be sent to LLS and to the MPD Foundation (at the address shown below). In addition, a short cover letter describing in layman’s terms the general purpose of the research proposed should be sent with the MPD Foundation copy. Proposals submitted exclusively to the MPD Foundation may request awards outside LLS guidelines, but must follow the LLS application instructions for proposal format.
